Next up is a book on life and writing that I started in 2006, but only got through the first 50 pages of. I am rereading them, and taking her suggestions to heart. My project to read as many novels as I can this year needs to push my writing. Wish me luck.

Currently Reading #6: Bird by Bird
I'm really excited at how fast I am reading these books. Chokewas just incredible. My newest favorite supporting character ever.

Good luck! I should do the same, read as many novels as possible. Have you ever read Writing Down the Bones? It's not a novel... more a book about writing. It came highly recommended to me from a few people. I haven't gotten to it yet. Sigh.
YES! I was just going to recommmend Writing Down the Bones, Natalie Golgberg. She and Anne Lamott have written my 2 FAVORITE how-to-write books.(if there could ever really be such a thing.)
Coming in a close third is a writing book by Stephen King, I don't remember what's it's called, but its funnyand useful...without his usual gore.
i think i have heard of it, but already have enough books on my "need to read" list.
the deal that i made with myself is that i am not allowed to buy anymore books until i read all of the ones i already have on my shelf.
so far, it's working!
Goldberg* haha
