Does anyone know anyone willing to give me legal advice about my current situation with my teeth?
I have been going to the same dentist my entire life. He stopped taking my insurance, so I switched. New dentist found a whole bunch of things that the old dentist missed, as well as decay underneath work that the old dentist did.
I have spent a lot of money on my teeth over the last 5 years or so, and am now going to have to spend more fixing problems that should have been caught way before this.
Should I take legal action? How do I go about doing that? What will I need to prove that he had been negligent?
This sucks so bad.

that sounds like a nightmare.
best thing to do is schedule a chat with a lawyer. just a chat. ask him what he thinkscan be done. youll pay for the time, but then you can decide if its something you wanna pursue or not.
I had a math teacher colleague who'd been a litigation attorney in a previous life. She said if you haven't lost more than $25K, it's not worth a lawsuit, because you'll spend that much in fees.
However, if you truly believe there's malpractice happening, you can report him to whatever the dental board in your state is. If they investigate and find trouble, if you did go ahead with legal action, that would certainly bolster your case.
Sorry I can't offer you any useful advice, but...
Am I the only one who read the title and thought this post was going to be about oral sex?
My parents sued a dentist over the exact same thing--and I think they ended up settling out of court and my parents in the end felt like they would have rather just avoided the whole ordeal. They didn't feel they got the $ they deserved with all the work & pain my mom went through... plus my mom got raked over the coals by the dentist's attorney, which wasn't pleasant at all, to say the least.
adam, i KNEW i wasn't the only pervert!!
to everyone else, we shall see what happens with my dentist appointment this thursday. depending on what my new dentist wants to do, i'll know how much money we will be talking.
i'm really not excited about it.
